These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and the operator of JobVega named in section 14 (“JobVega,” “we,” “us”). They apply to jobvega.com, the JobVega app, our emails, and any other way you access JobVega, whether or not you have an account, and to any software or AI agent acting for you. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
You accept these Terms by ticking the box that says you agree to them when you create your account, whether you sign up with an email address or with another account such as Google. Using JobVega without an account, for example visiting our website, also means you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use JobVega. Joining our waitlist is covered by the Privacy Policy only.
The short version
- JobVega is for adults (18+) in the United States looking for jobs for themselves, and for career coaches helping clients with their permission.
- You keep ownership of your résumé. You let us use it to grade jobs for you and to improve JobVega, as the Privacy Policy describes.
- Use JobVega like a person would. Your own AI assistant may help you, within our limits. No scraping, no reverse engineering, and no using JobVega to build or feed another product.
- Our grades are automated and can be wrong. Job postings come from employers, and we cannot guarantee they are accurate, current or genuine. Nothing here guarantees you a job.
- JobVega is free during the beta and provided as is. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited.
- California law applies, and disputes go to the courts in Santa Clara County, California, or small claims court.
1. Who can use JobVega
You may use JobVega if you are at least 18, live in the United States, and can form a binding contract. You may not use it if you are located in a country under U.S. embargo, appear on a U.S. government list of restricted parties, or act for someone who does.
Your account. Each account is for one person’s job search: your own, or one client’s if you are a career coach. You may have only one account for your own search. Give accurate information, keep your password secure, and do not sell or transfer your account or give your password to anyone else. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us right away at support@jobvega.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
Career coaches. A career coach is someone who advises job seekers on their careers as a service. As a coach, you may create one account per client, using an email address you control. Before you upload a client’s résumé, you must:
- have the client’s written permission, by email or e-signature, to use JobVega for them, including our use of their résumé to train and improve JobVega as described in the Privacy Policy;
- give the client a link to these Terms and the Privacy Policy; and
- make sure the client is at least 18 and lives in the United States.
You must show us that permission if we ask, and delete the client’s account when the client asks or withdraws permission. You may give the client access to their account or hand it over to them. The client may also contact us directly at legal@jobvega.com. We may limit the number of client accounts or ask coaches to confirm their coaching business, and the rules in section 4 apply to all of a coach’s accounts together.
2. The service
JobVega reads job postings from employers’ career sites, grades them against your résumé and preferences, ranks them, and emails you when a role clears the bar you set.
- Beta and free. JobVega is in beta and currently free. Features may change, be limited, or stop, and the service may be unavailable at times. Which features you can use, and how much, depends on your account’s plan and may differ between accounts. Keep your own copy of your résumé; beta data can be lost. If we introduce paid plans, we will show you the price and terms before you are charged, and you decide whether to sign up.
- Automatic analysis. Where your plan includes it, JobVega grades the ungraded jobs most likely to fit you without your asking, each time new jobs arrive. It is on by default. These grades count toward your plan’s usage limits like the ones you start. You can change how many it grades a day, or turn it off, in your account settings.
- New features. Some future features, for example ones that send your application or résumé to employers or recruiters, will work only if you turn them on, and may come with their own terms.
- Ads and sponsored jobs. JobVega may show ads or sponsored job listings, labeled as such. Payment never changes your fit scores.
- Emails. By creating an account, you agree to receive the alerts you set up and service messages such as security and policy notices. You can change or stop alerts in your settings, and unsubscribe from product news at any time.
3. Your content
“Your content” means your résumé, preferences, and the other information you give us about yourself or, as a coach, your client. You keep ownership of it.
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, analyze and adapt your content, including by creating structured and derived versions of it, to provide JobVega to you and to train, test and improve JobVega’s models, in the ways and only the ways the Privacy Policy describes. This license ends when your content is deleted under the Privacy Policy, except that models trained before then may keep what they learned until they are replaced, as the Privacy Policy explains. We will not expand how we use your content without your consent.
You confirm that you have the right to give us your content, including any details about other people in it, such as references, and, for a client’s résumé, that you have the client’s permission described in section 1. Do not upload anything unlawful, and please leave out the sensitive details the Privacy Policy lists, such as Social Security or bank account numbers.
Feedback. We are grateful for your ideas and suggestions; they help us make JobVega better. If you share one, we may use it to improve JobVega without any obligation to you. Ideas and suggestions are not “your content,” but any personal information in them is still handled under the Privacy Policy.
4. How you may use JobVega
We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use JobVega for the job search an account is for: your own, or your client’s if you are a coach. In these Terms, “JobVega output” means the fit scores, grades, explanations, rankings and company profiles we create.
What you can always do. You may share individual job postings, links and your own results with people you choose, for non-commercial purposes, for example a partner, friend, mentor or, as a coach, your client. You may always post honest reviews, criticism or commentary about JobVega, including screenshots of your own results.
How you access JobVega. Use JobVega only through the website, app and emails we provide. Our website talks to our servers through internal interfaces; these are not public APIs, and you may not call them directly or through other software, except as an AI agent may under the next paragraph. If we offer connectors, public APIs or similar interfaces, you, or an app you authorize, may use them only with credentials we issue, within their limits, and under any terms that come with them.
AI agents and other software acting for you. You may let an AI assistant, browser extension or similar tool, including one running in a headless or remote browser, work in your signed-in session, or through an interface we offer for that purpose, for your personal job search, for example to read your results and help you apply to jobs. That is not sharing your account, as long as the tool:
- acts only for you, in your account;
- uses JobVega at about the pace a person would, or within the limits of the interface it uses, and does not put more load on our servers than your normal use would;
- does not get around our limits, sign-in or security measures; and
- does not do anything you are not allowed to do yourself.
If the tool is a service run by someone else, its provider may not keep, combine or reuse JobVega output across its users or for its own products. A service that runs agents for many users needs our written permission, unless each user connects it to their own account through an interface we offer for that purpose. You are responsible for what your tool does, and we may limit or block automated access, or specific agent services, that we believe break these rules or harm JobVega.
You may not, and may not let anyone or anything else:
- use bots, scripts, crawlers, headless browsers or other automated means to access JobVega or collect anything from it, except a tool acting for you under the rules above;
- copy, sell, publish or redistribute JobVega output, other than sharing as allowed above, or use it to build or improve a database, product or service;
- use JobVega output to train, fine-tune, test or benchmark AI models other than JobVega’s, or help someone else do so. You do not break this rule just because an AI assistant you use processes it under that assistant’s standard terms;
- reverse engineer or decompile JobVega, or try to extract or replicate its models, prompts or grading, for example through systematic or automated probing with crafted résumés, except to the extent the law allows despite this limit. Revising your own résumé and reading your explanations is normal use;
- use JobVega to research or replicate it for a competing product. If you work for a competing service, you may use JobVega only for your own personal job search;
- use JobVega as a recruiter, staffing agency or employer to find or assess candidates, unless we offer a feature for that purpose under separate terms;
- create accounts by automated means or with false information;
- get around rate limits, usage limits, CAPTCHAs, blocks or other technical measures, for example by using several accounts, or overload, attack or interfere with JobVega;
- access JobVega if we have blocked you or told you to stop; or
- use JobVega to break the law or anyone’s rights.
Crawlers that are not acting for a signed-in user must also follow our robots.txt file. We may set usage limits and slow down or pause access that exceeds them; deliberately getting around them breaks these Terms.
Security research. If you find a security vulnerability, please report it to support@jobvega.com and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it. We will not pursue claims against good-faith research that avoids harm to users and data and stays within what is needed to show the problem.
5. Grades and job postings
Grades are automated. Fit scores, grades, rankings and explanations are produced by AI models. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and they are not career, legal, immigration or financial advice. Use them as one input, check what matters to you, and make your own decisions.
No guarantee of a job. JobVega is not an employer, recruiter or employment agency, and it takes no part in any employer’s hiring decision. A high grade does not mean you will get an interview or an offer.
Job postings come from employers. Postings, company names and logos belong to their owners. We show them so you can find and assess jobs, and showing them does not mean an employer endorses JobVega or that we endorse the employer. We cannot guarantee that a posting is accurate, complete, still open or genuine. Confirm details with the employer before you apply. Legitimate employers do not charge applicants fees or ask for bank details or a Social Security number before an offer; see the FTC’s advice on job scams and tell us about suspicious postings.
Other websites. Links take you to employers’ and other third-party sites, which have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for them.
6. Our rights
JobVega’s software, design, name and logo, and JobVega output, including how we select and arrange it, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. Apart from the license in section 4, these Terms give you no rights to them. Job postings and employers’ names and logos belong to their owners.
Removal and copyright requests. An employer can ask us to correct or remove its postings, name or logo, and anyone named in a posting can ask us to remove their details, by emailing legal@jobvega.com. If you believe something on JobVega infringes your copyright, email us there with the work, where it appears, and your contact details. We will review every request and may remove content.
7. Ending your use
You can stop using JobVega and delete your account at any time in your settings. We also delete accounts that have been inactive for 24 months, after warning you. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.
We may suspend or close your account, or block your access, if you break these Terms, if your use harms JobVega, other users or third parties, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first. If we close your account, we delete your data as the Privacy Policy describes, except what we need to enforce the closure. We may also end the beta or the service; if we shut JobVega down, we will tell account holders in advance where we can.
After your use ends, these parts still apply:
- section 3, for models already trained, and the feedback paragraph;
- section 1’s duties for coaches, for client accounts you created;
- section 4’s limits on JobVega output you obtained, and the rule against access after we block you or tell you to stop, for 3 years after your use ends or after our notice, whichever is later;
- sections 5, 6 and 8 to 13.
8. Disclaimers
JOBVEGA IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not promise that JobVega will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will find every relevant job, or that its grades or the postings it shows are accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS:
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, WAGES, DATA OR JOB OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF JOBVEGA; AND
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO JOBVEGA IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
These limits do not apply to liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, violations of law, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
10. Third-party claims caused by you
If a third party brings a claim against us because of content you uploaded without the right to do so, including a client’s résumé without their permission, or because you deliberately used JobVega in a way section 4 prohibits, you will cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim. This does not apply to the extent the claim results from our own fault. We will tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in defending it.
11. Disputes
California law governs these Terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem with JobVega, please email us first. Before going to court, each side will give the other written notice and 30 days to try to resolve the dispute informally; deadlines for filing are paused during those 30 days. This step does not apply to small claims, or to urgent requests to a court to stop unauthorized access, scraping, security breaches or misuse of anyone’s intellectual property.
Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Santa Clara County, California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Either side may bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We post changes here with a new “Last updated” date. For material changes, we email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect, unless the law or an urgent security need requires a faster change, and we may ask you to accept them in the app. Changes apply only going forward: a dispute about something that happened before a change is governed by the Terms in effect at that time. If you keep using JobVega after a change takes effect, the new Terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account. A change cannot expand how we use your content without your consent.
13. General terms
- These Terms and any terms for a specific feature you choose to use are the whole agreement between you and us about JobVega. If they conflict, the feature terms control for that feature. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
- You agree that we may make this agreement and send you notices electronically, by email or in the app. You can send notices to the contact details below.
- If you sign in with another account, such as Google, that provider’s terms also apply to that sign-in.
- If part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example to a company we form to run JobVega or to a buyer of JobVega, and we will tell you if we do.
- These Terms do not give rights to anyone other than you and us.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- “Including” means “including without limitation.”
